„Twang“

Since the 1950s, the typical treble-rich sound of this type of guitar has been called twang.

Initially, the T-style models were mainly used in Country and Rock‘ n‘ Roll music. Still, thanks to their distinctive, assertive single-coil sound and their extremely robust construction, they have found their way into all musical genres worldwide – from Jazz (Mike Stern) to Blues (Roy Buchanan) to Rock (Rolling Stones).

To keep the twang sound from becoming unpleasant, the Maybach Texonian models are equipped with special pickups from Amber Pickups that bring out the best tonal characteristics of the respective woods used for the body, neck, and fingerboard – a masterful combination!

SINCE THE 1950s, THE TERM "TWANG" HAS BEEN USED TO DESCRIBE THE TYPICAL, OVERTONE-RICH SOUND OF THIS GUITAR STYLE, WHICH REDEFINED THE COUNTRY AND ROCK 'N' ROLL SOUND FORMULAS OF THE TIME. THIS SUCCESS MANIFESTED AN UNPARALLELED TIMELESSNESS FOR THIS TYPE OF GUITAR, WHICH SIMPLY NEVER EVER GOES OUT OF FASHION.

The MAYBACH® Texonian

We only use nitro lacquer on Maybach Texonian guitars, which are available in Butterscotch, Cream, Caddy Blue, Miami Green, Wine Red metallic, and 2-Tone or 3-Tone Sunburst. All our electric guitars are finished with an aged finish, as it is undeniable that the guitar’s resonance is positively affected – not only but also by the distinctive cracks that an authentic nitro finish develops over time.

Greetings from Jimi Hendrix

Since 1954, guitarists worldwide have been inspired by this unique guitar design: the ST style model. It is still the most successful solidbody electric guitar ever. Thanks to its versatility and sound variety, ingenious tremolo system, and incredibly ergonomic body shape, it quickly became a staple of popular bands of all genres. In the mid-60s, guitar hero Jimi Hendrix made this guitar a true style icon. For decades, it has lent its distinctive sound to Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, John Frusciante, and many others. Plus: It has brought luster and glory to countless Rock, Pop, and Blues recordings. A remarkable career for an instrument! Period.

THE ST-STYLE MODEL IS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL SOLID-BODY ELECTRIC GUITAR EVER - WITH COMPLIMENTS OF JIMI HENDRIX.

The MAYBACH® Stradovari

Amber Pickups has developed great pickups that compliment the different wood combinations of the Stradovari S54 (one-piece maple neck) and S61 (maple neck with rosewood fretboard), which deliver the outstanding badass sound you have always dreamed of.
